Psalm 126:6

He who goes out weeping, carrying seeds to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.

Why did he go out and weep?
What seeds were he carrying?
Why did he return? How did he return? How did he reap joy after weeping?
What begins in sorrow for us, ends in joy. We live in a broken world, filled with hurt and pain, but God promises to restore, whether this life or the next.

Where am I hurting now? One day, God will restore me completely. I know right now there is some restoration, but the pain can easily come back. Praise God for rescuing me and for the eternal life with no tears.

Thank you for the promise of sheaves of joy. It’s not just one stalk of joy, it’s a sheave. Remind me Father, that one day, all the pain will go away as well. Thank you for that hope. Thank you for being who you are – a restorer of everything and of everyone.
